Welcome to my weekly diary report – 29-08-06.

Another massive week was had at the UKs biggest club – The Syndicate Superclub.

I got the weekend off and running again with another storming Thursday night in the Dance Arena. Thursdays are now nearly as busy as Saturdays and the local crowd really get into the bouncy Clubland anthems & classic Trance that I play and I really enjoy the vibe on a Thursday so this week should be no different. Friday was ok and we had Simon Webbe from Blue in the club who actually came into the DJ Box for a bit for occasional rants on the mic. It was the UK Streedance gathering at the winter gardens so we had quite a lot of acts & performers in the club on Friday which added to the atmosphere.

Saturday night on the August Bank Holiday is hit and miss most years and this year wasn’t the busiest. With the reading & Leeds Festivals on and Creamfields just down the road it sometimes affects our figures and its normally more noticeable in the Dance Arena as was the case on Saturday, but in general by any other clubs standards we did fantastic numbers. Gabriel & Dresden were in attendance, but I feel there style didn’t lend itself well to the night as we lost a lot of pure clubbers to Creamfields, but we tried to enjoy the night as best we could!! They played off Ableton on a laptop which readers of my forum will know im not the greatest fan of Ableton if you are just triggering tracks, I didn’t feel they entertained the crowd as well as they could / should and we lost a lot of people early because of that. By the time I went back on at 2:30am the damage had already been done and most of the room emptied out. Thanks god there will be a massive difference this week as we welcome back JUDGE JULES & MATT HARDWICK to the mighty Dance Arena.
The Bank Holiday Sunday we welcomed back THA BIG DAWG – TIM WESTWOOD. The last time we had Westwood on the night was really good and we had a lot of people at the club who wouldn’t normally make the visit and the same must be said of Sunday. I noticed a lot of locals in who wouldn’t normally come plus a plethora of out of towners made the atmosphere really good. In level 1 i did a quick hour set alongside Lou B to keep the vibe Funky & electro House and the atmosphere was really good in there. A few people questioned my decision to do RnB & Hip Hop in the Dance arena on Sunday and my answer is quite logical. The day after Creamfields, Hed Kandi on round the corner, big gig on at the Hilton doing house, Crasher’s big night in Sheffield and practically every big promoter in the land doing House / Trance / hard House I decided to go with Westwood as its an exclusive date and the numbers in the club did it justice, great night.

This Weekend is set to be another barnstormer as we welcome back JUDGE JULES & MATT HARDWICK on the Saturday and if your still up for a bit of a party this Sunday we are doing a Charity night at the club in aid of one of our former employees who sadly died last month so come down and show your support if your out.

Hi there and welcome to my weekly Diary, Blog, report – call it what you like !! Last week was a fantastic week for all the right reasons. Thursday night at the Syndicate might as well been a Saturday cos we hit amazing numbers in the region of 3000, it did help that it was the A-Level results day so more students and party goer seemed to be out in force and the atmosphere was really good.

Friday was a wee bit quiet, but im confident that they will start to pick up soon, we had TV & Movie star Will Mellor in downstairs and he came up for a bit of a bop in the Dance Arena’s VIP almost living up to his character on “Is Harry On The Boat” At Midnight I welcomed in my Birthday with Stuart, Greg and the rest of the syndicate staff, but I was kind of holding back for Saturday night so I could really let my hair down.

Saturday the 19th being my Birthday was also a great night as we welcomed Herd & Fitz DJs and the Lovely Laura on Saxophone and it was a fantastic night all round. Herd & Fitz has been getting some great revues of late with their appearances in Ibiza for Subliminal and with an Album out through Subliminal they didn’t disappoint. The Highlight for me as well was The Lovely Laura; she has an awesome talent and can really hit the notes with her Sax sessions played over the DJs tunes.

Im over in Spain this week till Thursday with family & Friends, but im really looking forward to this weeks night especially Thursday, Saturday with GABRIEL & DRESDEN & Sunday we welcome THA BIG DAWG – TIM WESTWOOD from Radio 1 & MTV’s PIMP MY RIDE, should be an awesome Bank Holiday Weekend and I hope to see you soon. Fubar.

Welcome to my weekly diary report – 15-08-06.

Well apologies for not posting anything last week but I was in Ibiza and its effects had its toll on my body.

After Ferry Corsten & Ronald van Gelderen last Saturday which was excellent I jumped in the car and headed to the airport en route to Ibiza. The staying up all night and travelling took its toll as I ended up in bed Sunday afternoon whilst the other ran off to Space for “We Love” which im told was amazing. Sunday night we headed up to San Antonio for Judge Jules’s Judgement Sunday which was rammed to the rafters. Also on the night was Sander Van Doorn, Lisa Lashes but I spent most of the night in the funky room dancing to Krafty Kuts who were awesome and Julesey finished me off with his trademark “Funky Set”

Monday was spent chilling and watching an amazing sunset at Café Mambo before catching a bit of Roger Sanchez’s pre party so we dually followed him up to Pacha for Release Yourself. Ive always been a big fan of Roger Sanchez since his earlier remixes and tunes and he never disappoints. Had it not been for the intense heat in Pacha I would have bopped all night, but I opted for the Terraza bumping into Robbie Rivera, Pete tong on the way!! Tuesday we were heading for Space for Carl Cox, but my lady wasn’t feeling 100% so I ended up in Eden again for Dave Pearce’s night. Wednesday afternoon was Alex P’s Birthday at Space which was very messy, so messy in fact we ended up leaving El Devino early for a catnap before my flight back to the UK Thursday Morning.
The weekend just gone was really good, Thursday night we had over 2300 in and the atmosphere was amazing, Friday was slightly quieter, but Saturday made up for it when I went into my 5 hour Funky, Tribal & Electro House set for the first time in over a year. The set is also on my music player to listen to or download anytime so click on the player on the right.

This Weekend its my Birthday on Friday so hope you can come down and help me celebrate in style and I promise the bubbly will be free flowing. Saturday we welcome HERD & FITZ to the turntables and a special guest THE LOVELY LAURA on Saxophone. Laura has a great track out at the moment called It’s a Sax thing – illuminate with Pav on Percussion who’s coming back soon. Hope to see you at the club and don’t forget to have a chat on the Forum, im on there every day.
