I have to say i was overwhelmed with the turn out on Saturday. When the club was closed 1st time around due to the unfortunate revocation and we re-launched last November the club was good then, but you could tell that it wouldnt quite be the same and this proved to be right when it closed in January. The difference this time around was amazing, not only did it far outshine that opening, but there were more people in than New Years Eve at just short of 4000 !!
To try and put that into perspective there is NO club in the country that gets close to that figure especially in the month of June which is traditionally a quiet month in the town and in Clubland in general after the Bank Holidays in May.
I was asked many times on Saturday if i thought i had made the right decision and it was mainly in gest as the expression was "will you have a look around you and check out how electric the atmosphere is" so in answer of coarse i am happy so many people kept coming up to the DJ booth to say hi and welcome back to myself, Greg & Stuart the Visual & lighting Guys.
So Agnelli & Nelson and Sonique as much as they were very good on the night kind of got swallowed up in the whole excitement of it.
i just watched as clubbers got to the top of the stairs leading into the Dance Arena just behind the main DJ console and the look on their faces was priceless. Not only did all the old faces come back, but we were joined by clubbers from the four corners of the UK who came for the hype and for the reputation. I remember always in the old days asking Taxi drivers and the towns bars staff "where is the best place to go in town" and i always used to call it "The Palace Syndrome" as thats where everyone was coming to back in the day, but now with the Syndicate having a level playing field of the late 4am licence its now "The Syndi syndrome" as it was definately the main destination on Saturday night.
So where do we go from here ?? well the club is open this week from Thursday to Saturday and we have a plethora of entertainment to keep the crowds happy Local & beyond.
This Friday we welcome back the legends of the 90's for our new "BACK TO THE 90's" event and we welcome legendary House DJ JEREMY HEALY alongside myself on the decks, but just to give the night a little added spice we have Personal appearances from ROZALLA famed for her No1 worldwide smash from the early 90's - EVERYBODYS FREE (to feel good) and ANGIE BROWN famed for her massive hits with BIZARRE INC including IM GONNA GET YA BABY & PLAYING WITH KNIVES. Angie Browns PA is one of the best ive ever seen so if you've never seen her Live NOW IS THE TIME. Musicaly the night is driven by all the biggest Dance Tunes from the fabulous decade of Dance that is the 90's.
This Saturday we continue with June's theme for Harder Club sounds when we welcome THE TIDY BOYS & ROB TISSERA to the mighty Dance Arena. Rob is no stranger to The Syndicate having played here 6 or 7 times in the past, but The Tidy Boys make their Syndicate debut after selling out the Tidy Weekender at Pontins in Blackpool last New Years Eve and are booked again to appear here this NYE at Pontins agin such was the success of last years event which is great news for Blackpool Clubbing. You can expect the biggest Hard House anthems and its definately not for the hard of hearing. Level 1 on the night we welcome our new resident Gary G from the mastermix stables playing everything from Funky House to Pop & Chart. Level 3 see's the return of the RnB & Hip Hop theme with DJ Nikki Mac who is also the resident DJ for MINIBAR in Harrogate (MINISTRY OF SOUND BAR)
Cant wait for Thursday as well which should just be on Level 2 with myself dishing out the usual thursday night bangers.
GOOD TO BE BACK. |
