The Bank Holiday Weekend went really well and it was unusual not working Friday so I made the most of it by going out and catching up with old friends in Blackpool.

Bank Holiday Sunday in Blackpool was excellent as it was the return of Hed Kandi to club Sanuk and the place was rammed to the rafters. I played an extended 2 & a half hour set in the main room due to one of the DJs being late which I enjoyed immensely. Kandi DJs Andy Daniels & Jack McCord were also in attendance in the main arena and it seemed to go off much more this time than the Easter affair. Also on the night in the Buddha bar was female Kandi DJ Kristie Preece who played a great selection of Kandi Classics and I ended doing the last hour back to back with Andy Daniels so all in all a great night.

The next bit of news I have may surprise a few people and also confirm a lot of the rumours (which were unsubstantiated) and speculation about me going back to The Syndicate. I have been in talks with the new owners Nexum leisure for the past few weeks and after initial talks I decided to turn the offer down. However since the constant nagging from friends and literally the hundreds of emails ive had from clubbers viewing their feelings of support for me to return to the Syndicate I can now confirm that I have agreed to go back the Superclub for a second term. It wasn’t an easy decision for me to make as there were a lot of factors that were playing on my mind, but obviously the support that came in on the emails and to be honest a large part down to my friends Greg Mclenahan & Stuart Wilson who you will know as the Lighting & Visual guys from the Syndicate who were very persuasive and supportive through my decision was a big part of it. SO WHAT NOW?? Well This Saturday 3rd June I will be back in the saddle at THE SYNDICATE SUPERCLUB alongside SONIQUE & AGNELLI & NELSON for a banging night of Trance & Techno. The Syndicate’s website is back online and if you want to get in on the guest list simply go to the guest list link and fill in your details.
Hope to see you Saturday at the UKs biggest club and thanks for reading. Best Wishes, Fubar

Weekly Diary & News updated 22nd May 2006

Hello and welcome to my weekly report from Club land.

It was my last 2 sessions at The Works in Birmingham Last week on Saturday and Friday just gone and the last Saturday was a weird one cos BOY GEORGE was on as well pretty much unannounced which went down surprisingly well. Friday was quiet but ive noticed Birmingham not being that busy at the moment especially on Broad Street where the action is supposed to be.

Saturday I was back up to Blackpool at The Flamingo for the Gatecrasher Classics Tour night alongside Riley & Durrant and Steve from The Thrillseekers. It was an excellent event and I did two sets, a warm up set to midnight and then 4am till 6am which I really enjoyed and there was still a few hundred people left in at 6am!! Sunday I was back at my residency at Club Sanuk for the Sunday Club which was ok, but a little quiet again. maybe its to do with the run up to the bank holiday next week or just that it’s the week before pay week, but there was a decent atmosphere in when they eventually started letting people in to my room !!.

This weekend I am very excited to announce my debut at GC1 in Sheffield (Gatecrasher One) for their Slummin event alongside GC resident Corey. My main aim when I joined Gatecrasher in January was eventually to play GC1 and their big event at home and abroad so im extra chuffed at finally landing a set and hopefully now a weekly residency at the world famous club. This Sunday is also the return of HED KANDI to Club Sanuk in Blackpool which should be another lock out event so if you fancy getting in on my VIP Guest List just email me on the contact link on the left of the navigation panel and I will be happy to add you to my list. DON’T FORGET TO JOIN MY FORUM! Just click the Forum link on the left and join up to talk with like minded clubbers from around the UK & beyond and im pretty much on there every day if you fancy a chinwag !! Best wishes, Fubar. xx

Weekly Diary & News updated 8th May 2006

Hello and welcome to my weekly report from Club land.

It’s been a strange week for me the last week as there were a few last minute changes to my DJ Itinery. Friday was much of the same in playing at The Works in Birmingham which was suffering the effects of two Bank Holiday weekends and was very quiet, but I pottered through the night as best as I could. Ive also spent all week working on a big project from Spain that I am involved with so its been non stop internet goggle eyes for me this week. I shall be releasing more information on the event as it becomes confirmed, but lets just say its going to be amazing.

Saturday instead of being in Birmingham I was winging my way up to Discotheque in Leeds of which I have been very keen to play. Naturally as this is the weekend after the Bank Holiday I wasn’t expecting it to be too busy, but it wasn’t that bad in the end and I played a twisted Funked up House set from 12 till half 1. The club seemed to empty quite dramatically so me and my posse decided to jump ship and head up to Sheffield for GC1 which had Hed Kandi in attendance. It too wasn’t so busy but the atmosphere was cracking and my old mate Andy Norman played my new mix of “Into the Fire” which went down really well. Sunday at Sanuk was actually quite good as I was expecting the similar pattern of a 3rd consecutive quiet night, but the Blackpool Faithful didn’t disappoint and we were still at it at 3am!! After the briefest visit to the Imperial Hotel where Chuff Chuff were back in town it was off back to the land of sleep of which ive had very little this week!!

As ive said previously I will be updating my music player shortly with some old sets from The Syndicate, Ministry Of Sound & BCM plus you can check out my new remix of my tune “Into The Fire” by clicking on the music player on the front page of the site. Hope to see you soon. Best wishes, Fubar. xx

Weekly Diary & News updated 4th May 2006

With two Bank holidays so close together im sure most of club land were nervous about doing big events in order to entice clubbers out for two extended weekends in a fortnight, but it didn’t seem to be the case with number as Birmingham at the Works was great on Friday and really good on Saturday.

Bank holiday Sunday the 30th April I was back up to Blackpool for my weekly Sunday club Sessions but this one was with a twist, it was Hed Kandi back in town for the 1st time since NYE at The Syndicate. The night was rocking and we were still at it at 5am Monday morning!! A few people keep asking me about The Syndicate and why am I doing events at Sanuk and not waiting for The Syndicate to re-open, to be honest I feel that in 3 years I took The Syndicate as far as the owners were willing to take it and moving to Gatecrasher was a natural progression for me (even if I haven’t done Sheffield or Leeds yet) Ive always had a hand in Blackpool’s nightlife since 1991 so doing Sundays at Sanuk keeps my reputation in the town intact and they have made significant changes already for me to see that the club is moving in the right direction musically. There’s lots of rumours around about The Syndicate but in all honesty my guess is as good as yours. To be blunt ive pledged my loyalty to Gatecrasher and to Sanuk on Sundays so we will leave it at that !!

This weekend im back in Birmingham Friday 7 Saturday & Sanuk on Sunday for the Sunday Club so I hope to see you sometime soon. If you’re in town at any of the events send me an email and I will add you to my VIP Guest list for any of the events - info@djfubar.com
